Someone recently asked me, "What's the biggest change you've seen in your lifetime?"
Hands down, it's the internet. When I was in high school, it was inconceivable that someone could have access to volumes of information (not to mention equally important misinformation) paralleling the library of congress in their living room.
And now, people carry that around in their pocket!
It's also facilitating a lot of fundamental change in the middle east. Why now? I don't know. Are we looking at a lot of little Hezbollahs in the making. It seems likely seeing as there is so much hate directed at the west and Israel from predominately Muslim countries.
But, as Snugglypoo might put it, "Most critters believe in good things and freedom and peace are some of the good things there are to believe in."
Fingers crossed.
