As the mid-terms approach, something that has always puzzled me tends to puzzle me even more. Why do my liberal friends seem so liberal and my conservative friends seem so conservative?
Sure, I know some purple people, but most of the time when somebody supports one party or another, they've bought into the whole platform.
Conservatives: not just the parts about being pro-business and fiscally responsible, but the religious mumbo jumbo.
Liberals: not just the interest in social justice, but all the anti-business regulations and the clunky bureaucratic nonsense.
I'm prone to assume monoliths are tools who don't really do their own thinking.
