Male Centered World

I'm working on a science fiction novel these days and it's glaringly obvious there aren't enough strong females in the story. I can and probably will go back and add some, but this isn't the first time I've run into this problem. In fact, Mr. Huggins (in its defense, the material is decidedly asexual) lacks women too.

As for whether or not the women are strong, it's debatable. Can a woman cry and still be strong? Does she have to have a ripped body and tote a machine gun? Is there something to be said for the argument that there are different kinds of strength?
